Summary
Motherhood can be challenging, and as a new mom, I recognize the need for support. In-person playdates with other moms offer emotional connection and community, but the market lacks a seamless way to facilitate these experiences.
I designed MoMeeTup to securely facilitate playdates for moms, addressing a key market gap. Through user research and iterative design, the MVP shows strong market potential, achieving high NPS and 90% user satisfaction.

Concept
Instant Meetups Anytime, Anywhere
Online platforms provide connection, but moms with babies lack time for endless scrolling. Whether balancing work or adapting to stay-at-home life, arranging playdates proves challenging and unpredictable. Especially post-pandemic, moms prioritize face-to-face interactions, valuing the spontaneity and authenticity of personal connections.

Solution 01
Uber-like Nearby Meetup Scanner
Allowing moms to search for nearby meetups and connect securely
Solution 02
Features highlight
Moms can post their playdate needs anytime, anywhere. Even if no results are found, the ability to connect with nearby moms or message through a verified platform appeals to moms for its convenience and community benefits.
Top Concerns
Research shows all participants' top concerns are privacy and security.
To address this, implementing a strict vetting system and secure data collection processes is essential. Thirty percent of moms who are not into online connecting expressed that if privacy is controlled, they would consider using the app.

Mistakes
Lengthy verification discourages moms
Initially, I designed a thorough verification process to secure the platform and moms' information. However, testing revealed low satisfaction. Therefore, I introduced staged verification: allowing quick access without completing initial verification, while requiring verification for detailed access. This approach balances convenience, security, and privacy, significantly improving user engagement.
Iterations
Feedback-driven iterations
Our goal was to empower moms with a straightforward process. Testing revealed concerns about the dark color scheme, so we simplified and improved legibility for better satisfaction. I reduced decorative elements to create cleaner versions and enhanced accessibility, resulting in higher satisfaction levels.

Iterations
Style Guide
The design uses shades of pink for a welcoming atmosphere, with clear blue buttons for actions, bold filled icons for visibility, and modern sans-serif fonts like Poppins and DM Sans for legibility.
Refelctions
To achieve goals within a timeframe, focus on a specific problem. Unexpected insights from interviews can reveal underlying issues worth exploring. For moms, simplifying the vetting process while ensuring privacy is key. Additionally, when possible, quantitative surveys can provide valuable insights for better design decisions.
